Electronic constant pull
The machine actively re-pulls as the string relaxes, so every main and every cross reaches the exact tension you asked for — no drop-off between the first string and the last.
6-point mounting
Six contact points support the frame instead of two, spreading the load and protecting your racket from distortion — essential on stiff, high-modulus frames and at higher tensions.
Two-piece stringing
Mains and crosses are strung separately, so I can set a different tension for each — the usual elite request being crosses 1–2 lb above mains for a crisper, more controlled bed.
UKRSA certified
Trained and assessed by the UK Racket Stringers Association, so knotting, tensioning and frame care all follow a recognised professional standard.

A drop-off and pick-up service.
Three steps, all arranged over WhatsApp. Drop-off and collection times are flexible, including evenings and weekends.

Bring it to me (see where to find me). It takes a minute — hand it over, and you're free to get on with your day.
Collect when it's ready
I'll message you as soon as it's strung — sometimes within the hour — and we'll sort out a convenient time for you to pick it up.
Please note: this is a drop-off and pick-up service only — there's no wait-in stringing. Your racket stays with me between the two visits so it can be strung properly and given time to settle before you collect it.

Customer-supplied strings are fitted at your own risk. I can't accept liability for breakage during or after stringing.
String feel
Soft or hard? Pick the feel that suits your game.
Feel is how the string bed responds when the shuttle hits it. A softer string flexes more and holds the shuttle a fraction longer: easy power, more comfort on the arm and more forgiveness on off-centre hits. A harder string gives way less and sends the shuttle straight back: crisp, precise feedback and a sharper sound, but less help when you mistime it. More of the shock also travels into your arm, which can put extra strain on the elbow over time. If you already have elbow or arm pain, a softer string at a slightly lower tension is the kinder choice. Otherwise, neither is better: it comes down to what you want from your shots.

My own guide from stringing and playing with these strings, not a Yonex rating. Tension changes feel too: the same string feels firmer the tighter it's strung.
Choosing your tension
Higher isn't always better.
High tension won't send your clears further — it's the other way round. Lower tension gives you easy length but less control. Higher tension gives precision, but only if your technique and swing speed can make use of it. My recommendations:
Casual players
Generous power and a forgiving sweet spot while your technique is still developing.
Intermediate club players
The balanced middle ground — enough control to place shots, enough help to clear the court.
Advanced players
Crisp, precise and unforgiving. Best paired with a strong arm and a consistent swing.
Elite specs welcome. Higher tensions and separate main / cross tensions are all part of the service at no extra cost — just tell me the numbers when you drop the racket off.
Strings keep breaking? It's usually a mishit.
Nobody hits the sweet spot every time. Mistime a shot and the shuttle lands near the tip or throat, where there are no cross strings, so just a few main strings absorb the whole impact. The higher the tension, the more likely they are to snap. While your timing is still developing, dropping a pound or two will make your strings last longer.
- Sweet spot. Main and cross strings share the impact.
- Top and bottom. Main strings only, no cross strings to share the load.
String breakage caused by a mishit isn't a stringing fault, and I can't accept liability for it.
One-piece or two-piece? How it's strung matters.
The same string can play differently depending on how it goes in. Most stringers use one-piece because it's quicker and uses less string. I string two-piece, and here's the difference.

What two-piece gets you
- Exact split tensions. Crosses 1–2 lb above the mains, precisely, for the crisper, more controlled string bed most advanced players ask for.
- A more consistent string bed. Mains and crosses are each tensioned and tied off on their own, so tension stays even from the first string to the last.
- Fresher string. Shorter lengths mean less friction through the grommets, so the string goes in with less wear before your first hit.
